You may remember that when Wikipedia started 20-odd years ago, it was sued for slander in a highly-publicized lawsuit brought by John Siegenthaler, a Kennedy intimate who was "identified" in a Wikipedia entry as one of the plotters in a/the conspiracy to kill JFK. He won, received a large settlement and an apology from Wikipedia. It took years for the site to crawl back to respectability. This year, however, one of the founders of the site cut ties to it, citing its Leftward drift and abandonment of impartiality. This week, Wikipedia will begin pruning mention of Communist genocide (Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot) in further attempts to establish a pro-Socialist/Communist rendering of History.
