How do you communicate between client/provider? Prepaid phones? Email? Do you just not give a fuck and yet your actual number?

You can go to Walmart and get a $30 smart phone thru tracphone. Pay cash, never get on Wi-Fi at your home or anywhere you could be linked to. Buy your refill cards with cash. And set yourself up a email at protonmail.com.
I use TextFree. It's an app you can install on your phone and text/call people from a different number. I don't give out my primary number.
Yeah there's no reason to waste money on a burner phone, there are probably a dozen apps that let you text from a different number. You can even choose whatever area code you want.
I use a burner hobby phone. What can wifi provider track if I use an app like TextFree?
Everything over TextFree, SMSNow or Burner (the app I use) is going over ssl (encrypted) now, so they can at most tell you're using it, not what you're sending. If you have it forward to your native number, then your carrier can see the texts, but otherwise it's all encrypted and only those providers and whatever network your recipient is on could see the actual contents.
Also, what are the odds you have a full scale investigation into you? It's all about balancing and who you're hiding from. For me, I just don't want my real name and number linked mainly for business // society / PR reasons. I use a burner number when I list something on craigslist or have to put a legal notice in the paper, too. If you're trying to hide it from family, a second phone is way more likely to be suspicious.
Yeah, if you're a large scale pimp or drug dealer, you need to take the extra steps. If you're just a normal dude meeting consenting ladies, your biggest risk is when you meet a new one in person. That's when you'd get nabbed if there's a sting.
