What do guys think of professionally taken photos in girls ad's?

I'm curious what guys think of professionally taken photo's vs camera phones/personal camera pics in the girls ad's??? I've been thinking about having them done. Do you think they are fake when you see professional pics??? Do you think that camera phone pics look messy??? I know personally I will try to crop off anything in the background and/or make sure the back ground looks plain and clean and isn't distracting, do you perfer that??? Any feed back is greatly appreciated, thanks guys
there's a really good article about this on geisha affair...that site is a literal gold mine for us girls...Definitely sign up for the newsletter. I'd post a link but my laptop is so slooooow today...just search it. Geisha Affiar dot com, and then search for 'taking photos' I think the article was along on the lines of " You are only as good as your photos"

This topic has been brought up numerous times if you feel like taking the time to use the search function on the board.

I generally won't consider a gal with bad pics. If you're serious about being in this biz, good photos will pay you back long term. A pro can do wonders with editing / cropping to make a good impression and to protect your privacy.

Professional photos will always be worth the investment of time, energy and money. There's little doubt about that.

But professional-quality photos can be found in some otherwise unexpected places. Lynn, for example, has shown herself to have a good photographer's eye and the understanding of how best to showcase the female form.

Equally, I have seen photos taken by well-recognized professionals that are very disappointing. Woman are more difficult to photograph properly than one might assume.
Personally I don't care who takes the photos, paid or not.

I'm looking for some truth in advertising and that's what posted photos are when you get past the rest.

As most women do, take a bunch of photos and select the ones that you think capture your best features. If they are you, great!

Don't forget the disappointment factor. Awesome, touched-up professional photo's, and then you show up for an appointment and the lady looks nothing like what you expected.

I say a mix of both.

As others have said a good photograph that depicts the real you taken by a professional or yourself will take you a long way in the business. I agree too that You should have a mix of both.

In my opinion, it depends on where the photos are found by the hobbyist.

If I find professional photos on BP, I immediately skip to the next ad as I believe any professional photo on BP is a fake (stolen from some website I may or may not have seen).

If I look in the showcase section on here and all I find are blurry, low res phone pics, I am likely to skip to the next ad because I figure the lady doesn't care enough about herself to present decent photos.

That said, decent photos can get you a long way in both venues. If you sell yourself up, you'll get what you are looking for.

As long as they're clear, not too dark and not a tiny thumbnail pic.

Maybe go outside of your area and hopefully have some control (agreement/contract) over who can use them and for what if you're worried about that.
