More will be going back to China soon, before the war. They have used us to get their money to help their families in their motherland, and are leaving us to enjoy their spoils.

They might be moving between here and LA, Utah, or NY, but they are not going back permanently to China. One is a USA Citizen, went back to China to visit family last summer, is still there, but coming back. She flew to Japan for a visit a month ago, so things are not as bad as our news states. I know of a couple who got their otherwise absent husbands to join them here recently and one put her kid in school in Europe.
Here is my $0.02:
If anything, their desire for flexibility is getting in the way. They don't want a big footprint here because of the work and the law, but many have houses and the longer they stay, the more roots they have. The dual China-USA thing is very attractive because no decision needs to be taken. If things get much worse, they will have to give up the flexibility and I still bet that they will choose to stay here. At the end of the day, these ladies are making stellar money here, many earn over $500K annually, they are being paid at the top of the food chain equivalent in China, and that is a big negative for going back - where they would get $0.50 for a massage and grow vegetables in the yard to eat well. Suffice to say that Chinese are inherently business oriented, the original small shop genius culture, and they are kicking it in the USA, all of which flies in the face of Xi's apparent new policies. At the same time, very few of them engage me credibly as to why they don't learn American English to the degree that they can blend in. They know it, we know they fake it as part of their game to bargain for money, but they just keep speaking only Chinese and hanging in their circles. A few speak excellent English, the others always say "Oh she speaks so well...". Not a conundrum, by the way: I lived in Germany for years avoiding a ton of Americans who could ask where the toilet was and order another beer, but never learned to converse in the language, much less read or negotiate a contract. So remember to look in the mirror when forming opinions of these extremely courageous hard-working ladies who are probably out-earning you right now while cooking rice and fish for lunch and dinner in the back room of the shop every day, 7 days a week.
