ED

Ok. I'm real curious about some of the items used to help with E.D.. This might really stupid but since I've started being in my 50's things don't seem to work so good. So first how does a cock ring work?
Next I've tried herbal enhancers and it seems to work but I get a real bad sinus headache afterwards and several days after I have acid indigestion real bad. And I'm curious how the prescription stuff works. I know I should go see a doctor, but I'm not real sure how to bring it up (no pun intended). Any advice sure would be appreciated.

A simple, "Doc, my dick doesn't work right anymore!" will be sufficient to get the ball rolling. Though a lot of primary care physicians may not feel comfortable with addressing the issue, and may refer you for a urological consult, though in my experience more and more primary care docs are comfortable giving a scrip for one of "the big three" (Viagra/Levitra/Cialis) and will resort to the urological consult only if they don't work.

Thanks bcg. Would you want to come to the doctors with me and I'll let you do the talking. Just kidding. It's kind of hard to do because the nurse practioner that I see is also a family friend. But I guess I need to man up and just do it.

I've not had that problem, but I can see why that would be reason to be hesitant to bring it up. I'd hope that there would be a way around it when making the appointment (ask to be seen by another NP (if there is one)? Suggest to the NP that you have a problem that you'd rather talk to the doc about directly and leave it at that?) I'm sure that this is a situation that has come up in the past and can be worked around.

Of course, the fact will be that the ED problem will be in the office's patient records, and there's no practical way that you'll be able to keep her from knowing about it (she's going to have to review the records before the next time she sees you for that hangnail or whatever). If the issue is that you just don't want to talk to her about it, but you're ok with her knowing about it, that's not an issue. If you're concerned with her not even knowing about it... That can be a much more difficult thing to accomplish.

Good luck!

Thanks BCG for the input. I think it's probably just the fact that I'm getting older and things just don't work like they used to and I just don't want to face that fact. They said things would be down hill after 50. They neglected to tell me it was a damn cliff.
