To be fair Adams really is not a crazy liberal, but rather a more moderate Democrat. He ran AGAINST much of the far left agenda, especially the whole “defund the police” nonsense. I am not surprised that he recognizes that incessant tax increases that cause high income earners to leave the city are counterproductive.
