You are correct it is very difficult to convey a proper term when addressing memorial day.
If you re-read my post I actually said those that paid the ultimate price.
I am never the person who tries to offend anyone on any holiday.
Veterans day is another awkward one where you want to thank for service but words can be difficult to convey .
