I am a huge collector of bluebonnet pictures and would be willing to send all the good ones I get to those that will do the same. I think this will be a great year. Already reports that they are breaking out near Austin.
Saw a couple of Bluebonnet Patches south of Devine...not too many yet but they are starting to make their appearance!
Try 281 North outside 1604... in the median....
I started to see some come in along Highway 16..... probably will totally blow up as it starts to warm up now. I'll nab some next time I'm up in that area.
Quite a few out hwy 90 W and just the start, should be a great year with all the rain we had.
Driving into work today there were two spots along 281 S. One just after the Sandau/Rhapsody bridge on the right side (if you park at that Citgo and walk across the access road you should see them too) AND and bit harder to get to but just past the Hildebrand bridge between Trinity/Alamo Stadium and UIW.
Was in Del Rio this week.....not many that direction yet.
37 south to Corpus........just starting
A nice large size lot/field was FULL of BlueBonnets on along IH 35 just South of Lytle! Unfortunately didn't have a camera.
I-37 South at 1604.........a huge field of bluebonnets.(by the horse ranch)
I-37 south to 281 and 281 south to McAllen.......most various colors of wild flowers I have ever seen.
Had a nice colorful drive on SH 16 South of 1604!
The best I've seen this year...FM 3432 (Sulphur Springs Road). between Loop 1604 S and FM 775. Also FM 775 between La Vernia and Hwy 181. Not only Bluebonnets, but fields of reds, yellows, purples mixed! Magnificent!
I'm just getting back from a trip to the El Rancho down 181 to Bee Co., the Bluebonnets were in full bloom and very plentiful.

Highway 16 south between 1604 and Poteet has not just Bluebonnets but tons of Indian Paint and fields of a white flower that I can't name. Jett road between 1604 and 16 offers a brief but spectacular drive off the freeway/highway that is well worth it. Also, Island of Oaks. It pays to get off the highways.
