PA joins 23 other states and DC in automatic voter registration when you renew or get a new license. Good job Spariro, the fundamental of democracy, make sure people can vote in elections.

I have no issue with showing ID to vote if the people pass a measure on it too much potential for shenanigans otherwise. But on registering people to vote without their consent not sure I am on board with it. If there was an opt-out at the time of renewal it would feel more correct to me not that I don't want everyone to have access to voting just seems like a bad idea to auto-enroll people if they have no desire to exercise that right.

Residents of our Commonwealth already provide proof of identity, residency, age, and citizenship at the DMV — all the information required to register to vote — so it makes good sense to streamline that process with voter registration.

Which means those who aren't eligible to vote will be screened and weeded out. They should get state ID or DL, but shouldn't be added to the voter roll.

MAGA is just afraid of high voter turnout. They know the only way to get their cult leader back in the White House (and more importantly, absolved from committing treason against this country) is to use voter suppression tactics. Automatic enrollment for all legal PA voters makes sense on every level. That is, of course, if your goal is to protect democracy. We all know MAGA doesn't like democracy or counting all legal votes.
