Taking the time to read a Providers Ad...

heatherone's Avatar
Hello Gentlemen,

So, I am curious how many gentlemen actually read a providers ads? I get about 2-3 emails a week, if not more, on questions such as 'When are you available?' 'What are your donations?' 'Are you newbie friendly?' All this can be answered by taking 2 mins to read an ad. Actually all the information is in my signature block. So, gentlemen, you take the time to read the review but not the ad. Why??

Hells Nah! I'm too busy looking at the pictures. I don't have the time to READ and UNDERSTAND what ever information is given. It's easier to send 20 PMs to see who'll bite.

Of course, if you were to tattoo that information across your body, then I may actually stumble on to it (ie if you do Greek, place a tollbooth with the toll amount).
Men don't read, Duh! We need a picture book

Heather it's your own fault! Once a guy reads the review, there's no blood left in his brain to read or think with. He becomes a mindless zombie with only one thought. Must see Heather, must see Heather......

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that...

Secondly, most ads do not provide much info - the donation is not in there anymore, nor in a signature block - and often they do not mention time of availability. So we get used to not expecting an ad to provide much info, and quit reading them. Those ads that do provide good info suffer from this 'burnout'.

Also, some ads do weird capitalizations and punctuations and other stuff that is simply annoying.

For me, an ad worth reading will have:

1. Photo or link to such
2. Days of availability (specific dates if visiting provider)
3. Area of Incall
4. Donation - on boards that allow it. If not, then Showcase, if allowed. If not then link to a site.
5. Links to reviews - on this site, that is automatic under the provider's handle
6. Be easy to read - don't make me work
Sometimes it is difficult to keep reading after I've seen the avatar

Yours is pretty distracting and the only thing I'm thinking about is making is making contact with you.

How about a new type of ad short, sweet, simple, with all the info...

Availability: Weekdays after 6PM and Weekends

Donation: https://www.preferred411.com/sanantonio/heatherone

References Needed? YES

I'm pretty sure you'll find a way to contact me...it's by my pics...

I know I can be accused of asking some info that can be found with just a little reading but sometimes I guess I read over the ad too fast looking for pics.

Are the requests coming from guys that have been on the board for a while or relatively new guys that are still new to the site?

Hope you have a great day Heather...

Hey, I think xlurk is onto something there...an ad 'form' that is standard so we are assured it contains all the needed info and we know where in the ad to look, but also with a free-form area so providers can be creative and express themselves.

I suspect the annoying PMs and e-mails are coming from new people. Her ads are concise and to the point, if you take the time to read it, it contains all the needed information, minus donations, which can be found by simply clicking on her showcase.

None of those annoying, hard to read, pink neon, icon filled ads.

I can not recall Heather ever posting on any other forums, so her frustration has caused her to start this thread.
Heather..........good question. A review is theoretically an accurate account of activities, personalities, attitude, etc. An ad can be inflated to make the provider out as much more than she really is. Even though descriptions in an ad can be basically true, the actual event and meeting of the provider is what the guys are interested in reading.
In your case, since I have had the good fortune of seeing you several times in the past, your ads are accurate. All of those great things you say about yourself in your ad are in fact, true. But, a client, particularly a newbie, may be skeptical until they see some reviews.
Once someone reads your reviews, they probably want to get an appointment as soon as possible and they don't even think about re-reading your ads.

I do like xlurkit's template....I have a better one, I will just post an ad with nothing in it except my signature block....maybe that might get more attention. LOL!!!
I have noticed some of the questions are coming from guys who have little to no experience. So, I guess I have to excuse them....not.

AljanSATX, yes it has been very frustrating.

Well, I hope I have done some good with this post.

Happy Hobbying Gentlemen!!
