If you ever wanted a chance to be heard, here it is......

we petition the obama administration to:
Decriminalize the practice/occupation of engaging in sexual activity between consenting adults in exchange for payment.

Prostitution is commonly known as the one of the oldest "professions" known to man. It is completely legal and regulated within 22 countries.

Over 80,000 adults are arrested in the US for prostitution, 70% are women. How much is it costing tax payers to scourge, brand, judge and prosecute these consenting adults?

As long as the prostitution transaction is voluntary, there is no justification having the government telling consenting adults what they can/cannot do with their bodies in exchange for payment, goods and/or services.

Instead of wasting our money, resources and time suppressing the oldest profession, we should spend it on important issues. The time has come for the decriminalization of prostitution.

I can think of several more important petitions I'd prefer to send Obama. I admire your passion though.

Prostitution is a state/local issue. Obama could care less. Besides, he'd find a way to fuck it up just like he has done with everything else.

If you want to effect change, you have to contact local officials, but be prepared for righteous indignation. There is no way that a governor will change state prostitution laws. Your best hope is at the city level, but then again unless you live some extremely liberal city, don't expect any sympathy. This hobby is caught between a rock and a hard place. The extreme left is opposed to prostitution on grounds it is demeaning to women. On the extreme right, it is a question of morality. Your best bet is to find a libertarian POV. These are people like Ron Paul or Gary Johnson-- usually fiscally conservative but socially libertine. These are the guys who want government out of your life. Remember, Dems are all about government intrusion into every aspect of your life because they think they are smarter than the common person. From the GOP perspective, they need the religious vote to get elected so they want all types of restrictions on sexual behavior. Until Americans become less up-tight about sex, you won't see much change in the prostitution laws.

then "Whats the Mann act" qualify as?
If the Federal Government decriminalized prostitution (although it is a state and local issue) they would most certainly tax it through some kind of fee or licence. It then might well become cost prohibitive and likely wind up costing the tax paying public. The government is good at fucking up everything it gets involved in.

Amen brother Bull.
Given how much money this affirmative action prezodent
is blowing through one should be careful what one
asks for. IRS could be very contentious concerning
perceived back taxes. You girls want some Fed
nosing around your home questioning the value
of your possessions?
The upside is largely just a piece of paper.
