After all that righteous indignation from the progressive left and the legacy news outlets . . .there was just really was nothing here.

Dude, did you not read the article in the link you provided? The 1st fucking paragraph explains why it was dismissed:

Special counsel Jack Smith has moved to dismiss his federal election interference case and the appeal of his classified documents case against President-elect Donald Trump due to a long-standing Justice Department policy that bars the prosecution of a sitting president, not because of the merits of the charges.

Edit for ICU below: What does that have to with your topic? Anyway, would you stick around at a job that you know you are going to get fired from? Call me crazy, but if I worked in the DOJ, I would have updated my resume the second Trump was elected, even if I just worked in the mailroom.

Sure, sure . . .Lucus: You may very well be correct in taking the report at face value. I would hope that your view is correct.

However, I feel that I (we) have been lied to (mislead, misinformed . . .whatever) in so many things by so many important actors in the past four years that I have developed a severe case of skeptical disbelief in most of what is presented to us as Americans today.

My take is that they figured out a way to step out of the corner they had painted themselves into.

Just head that Smith and his team intend to resign before Trump is sworn in. Looks like the progressive power brokers have pilled the levers on this and have promised Smith et al a cushy landing in academia.

He quit because it didn’t work and Trump got re-elected despite their horseshit, not due to “long-standing Justice Department policy”.

Above posts are making very little sense.

The prosecution is not going forward due to the policy that sitting Presidents should not face criminal prosecution, so they have no hindrance in carrying out their duties.

That is all it is. The OP is trying to turn it into something it is not.

It was never horseshit.

And he was 100% guilty.

We all know Trumpfs re-election campaign was ONLY about staying out of jail.

I have no doubt there will be more crimes and misdemeanoring in the months to come.

One day, he'll cross a line he can't erase.
