First time in Birmingham and Montgomery?

Is Inverness a good place to stay while in Birmingham? Where is the safest, most convenient area in Montgomery?

In Montgomery. Eastchase area off I85 would be safest. Convenient enough. Be sure to let me know if you plan to visit.
