Saint Nicholas

December 6th is celebrated as the feast of St Nicholas in many Christian sects. His story is supposedly the basis for our Santa Clause as well as the many iterations of Santa around the world. Apropos of nothing, he is venerated as the patron saint of children, coopers, fishermen sailors, brewers, and prostitutes.
