I've never even heard of VOA. I am surprised to read that it has been around this long. As far as I am concerned, you could put Scooby Doo in charge of it and I wouldn't care. With all of the Internet and Satellite communications now I am not sure Voice of America is needed. So many government programs once started they just never go away even thought their usefulness is questionable at best.

Makes sense. That's way before my time. Again, I was surprised I never even heard of it. VOA was neither mentioned in my high school government class nor any of the political science classes I took as an undergrad. If it was mentioned in any of those classes, it certainly was not discussed at length enough for me to even remember it. Anyway, thanks for the insight.
