Why does Pitt Hoops and Football suck

Football it’s obvious. Half empty stadium in a football town.

But why can’t Pitt hoops get over the hump? There was a guy on this site that had inside scoop at Pitt so maybe he can provide insight.

City school, good fan base….yet they are just ok…always.

I don't think Pitt gets enough respect to draw really good recruits, its always been a 2nd class organization, with a rare good team, like, one in my lifetime.

I went there, a very shithole school, many reasons why inner city schools end up bad, and Pitt reflected some of the worst.
... CORRECT on this, I'm sorry to say.

Hard to watch college sports when the home town football and basketball Panthers are mediocre.

I think it comes down to NIL money to consistently get the best players. Pitt isn’t elite in the spending category.

Why not at least start by fixing up Forbes Ave. Shops, Bars and restaurants instead of clinics and drug stores. Make it look like a college campus for shits sake!

I bet Pitt would love to have the government eminent domain the private property to build an actual campus.

But all that land becomes non taxable, big money.

I’ve lived here most of my life and still have no idea what and where the campus is. Nothing fun means alumni won’t come back and support their teams like Penn State and many others.
