'Buffy' and 'Gossip Girl' actress Michelle Trachtenberg dead at 39

Her mother found her dead in her apartment.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is my all time Favorite TV series

Just a couple of weeks ago, Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed that she was returning to the role of Buffy Summers with the original cast in a continuation of the series, picking up from exactly where the series ended 22 years ago..

I guess that's not happening now.

Now I can't ever watch Buffy or Friends knowing that one of the major cast member on each series has passed away and passed too young.

Looks familiar, but those series weren’t in my wheelhouse, so this one doesn’t hit me in any particular way. Still, so sad to see this generation dying so young. Too many of those still around aren’t having children, either, which in my mind could be connected.

There really needs to be a spiritual awakening of some sort for men and women her age. They just don’t seem to have anything to live for, despite their fame.

Was she a alcoholic? Doesn't that affect your liver? She was way too young to pass away

Actually she didn't drink or do the other bad stuff.


The reason for her liver transplant prior to her passing was not disclosed by her, her agent or her family.

Yes, the liver is affected by alcohol. Maybe she did not drink after her surgery but she probably did a bunch of it before it which is why she needed the transplant. The obvious position to be in is that she died from complications of that transplant. But you will never know until her autopsy is done.

If we ever get a final report of what led up to her liver failure, it may not be for six months or more until that report is complete.

Interestingly, the news reports that I saw right after her death which mentioned past alcohol abuse have now mostly been scrubbed to eliminate any trace of it, and the MSM pretty much are sticking to “it hasn’t been disclosed”. You can still find some of those reports if you search a bit deeper, but as far as I can tell it’s now just tabloids and social media where you see that claim made.
