I was passing through and happened on Ichiban. I was greeted by a rather pretty 30something Korean gal named Joy who said she was the 'mama' and didn't do massage. Is this a normal thing? I asked to see who was available and she said I couldn't see. In my opinion this means that the therapist is not attractive. I don't frequent Korean spas so again, I don't know if this is normal.
How is the talent at this spa? Had anyone ever seen Joy?

We're going to have to assume you're talking about the ichiban spa in Colorado Springs, yes? Since there isn't a separate board for CS you might want to make that clear. I've never been to that spa under that name and I don't know anything about the current operation at all. You might want to check out rub maps.
It's 100% normal for there to be a mamasan who welcomes in new guests and vets them and assigns them to a room and an attendant. Some places have a lineup, and some don't. I think in Colorado not too many have a lineup although I understand that it's common back east.
