Handjobs, Cash and Capone
With the crime in Albany my mind goes to all the cash these AMPs take in-and being a target to get robbed. Assume cash is collected daily, removed and deposited (laundered?) daily in these places. With that in mind.....
Never been to a downtown central ave-ish amp. (not that a suburban amp is 100% safe either). Walked out of a few amps with perpetually unlocked front doors and backdoor constantly propped to an alley for ventilation.
As in 1931 and Al Capone--it may be tax evasion which brings some of these down. Not solicitation or immigration. But good luck finding the owner-- most likely %&*#@ LLC out of Flushing Queens, NY address.
I honestly believe the proceeds are all successfully washed through other enterprises they own, here and elsewhere. Drive around, look at the exclusively Oriental businesses in our area. Asian grocery stores, Chinese trinket stores at the mall, pizza shops. There's a fast food place in town, a national chain, where everyone is Asian, and speaks minimal English. That's where the proceeds from the illicit enterprises get washed by being added into daily sales receipts.
Jesus, you weren't thinking about knocking one of these AMPs over were you? It never ends well. LOL
But seriously, they wash it through their other enterprises and declare the money as sales income. These guys are highly professional criminals. Meaningless storefronts, with minimal assets and few staff, but with giant daily receipts from sales. Wash it, pay tax, cheaper than money laundering.
makes sense Jack. It also helps with an all 100% Asian staff. They understand the code. Have you ever seen the neighborhood high school kid working their summer job at an Asian nail salon, restaurant or alike? (rhetorical of course). Keep in the family.
Maybe I will open
"A1 Happy Time" Spa at the corner of Broadway and Caroline in Saratoga just to freak out the city council. Will make sure I have a neon "open 24 hours" sign just to have their heads explode. Guess I am off topic...but whatevs
they have been doing this for decades just like the cartels they know what to do lol... and I bet 9 out 10 employees are not employees but trafficked ..in Vermont that is how they busted one spa they watched it for months recording it from far away and seen no one leave ever so they busted them with trafficking and imprisoment and also id some clients in the process which is bad news
If you robbed an AMP, you're likely robbing some sort of criminal element, someone who knows how to find you faster than the cops. And when they find you, you'll wish the cops had got to you first. I don't really know what I'm talking about in this regard, but this could be the reason no one tries to rip them off.
one towards Poughkeepsie .. one guy tried to rob it .. I think the lady swung a knife or something at him.. in reality im surprised it doesn't happen more often or at least try too...I hate to use the R WORD ... but Im surprised that doesn't happen either or maybe it does and that doesn't get reported at all.. there are some sketchy amp locations ... one I seen is in Atlantic City.. it is one rough section where day time isn't safe and if your white at night they will tell you wrong neighborhood.. only couple blocks from casinos lol
To rob the place you would need to know where the money was - there is no register.
So you would need a gun and a google translator app to ask where the fuck it was and all you would get back is - "your dick so strong .... you want hour...?" Seems like s scene from a comedy movie.
I doubt much cash hangs at any one of these places very long.
Circa 2001 my jaded detective uncle worked homicide/major crimes in Chicago. He would joke about LE's hands off the Hmong "rub and tug" parlors. In return parlor workers were their best informants.....and prob serviced LE members (pun there) on the side. He also talked about how CPD and Hmong relationships were complicated. (Wonder about the Hmong?...watch Grand Torino)
One summer night (Staff edit) cousin stole his dad's service xxxxxxx off his nightstand and sold it on the street within hours. (Staff edit). My uncle was panicked - did not want to report it. Guess a cardinal sin to lose your xxxxxx if a cop. It was a huge thing in our family.
Within 24 hours a knock at his door. Two Hmong gang members (he had busted both at one time) opened a back pack handed him his xxxxxx back through the front door. No words spoken, just a nod. Much more to the story--like my cousin (Staff edit)and wanted Hmong members attending his funeral along side CPD--but before our friendly Mod asks me to stay on topic...
I wonder how much interplay there is between LE and Asian's around here? And if ICE could throw that out of whack? Or maybe I am still in 2001. Maybe they share the same eco-system.
Listen, I think that 5 of us, 6 at most, could hit a place and take everything they have within 15 minutes. If we target 3 or 4 places and hit them in rapid succession, we'd be set for life. I'm not afraid of a bunch of Chinese gangsters. Torch one place as a warning, so they get the message. What's the difference? We all go to the same Hell in the end anyway. But I'm just saying that we COULD, that's all, I'm not advocating any unlawful conduct or doing anything illegal. That wouldn't be right. Of course, in "The Magnificent Seven," Calvera (Eli Wallach) says to Chris (Yul Brynner), "A thief who steals from a thief is pardoned for 100 years."
You're right Jack. You would be set for life. Unfortunately, that life would only last about 2 days.

Besides, we could hide out in the lobby of the federal building where ICE is. The Chinese mobsters wouldn't dare go near there.
You know, if we went in with fake ICE badges, they'd probably GIVE us the money and thank us for taking it and leaving.
