Hey.. look finally someone showing the Stars some love.
I honestly feel the team was in a good spot. We are winning, thats not in question. We have been a top 5, mostly top 3 penalty kill team, at times #1. Power play, just like the playoffs last year, was our weak spot. Its a big reason we got bounced in the WCF last year. We couldnt score on the PP. It was looking like special teams coach wasnt changing shit until we got some injuries. Come Jan, he makes some changes to the PP lines and since January, we have been I want to say top 10. We are still winning even with Miro and Seguin out. DeSmith is showing he can help take a burden off Otter when needed. Had a great showing against the Devils when we needed him. This team has a chance to do something.
Adding Mikko.. well.. damn. I will say Nill has not been a big splashy trade dealer... so this one caught me off guard. Im not mad at it. Just hope Mikko fits in and doesnt become a locker room cancer. You got paid, youre with a cup contender, no state tax, you have other Finnish team mates. Lets fucking rock this league. Hate to see Stanky go though. I was liking the kid. I know he lacked size.. but I feel his potential was possible a bit under Mikko... but thats maybe in a few years if he hits his full potential. Mikko is a now player.
