he was so convincing as Jim Morrison the surviving members of The Doors said if you didn't know better you'd swear it was Morrison.

You know what?

I have never seen that The Doors movie.

I do remember him from his very first movie, Top Secret! 1984.

Made by the same team that made the Airplane!, Naked Gun and Police Squad movies.

This scene from Top Secret! 1984 was funny

Val Kilmer, who played Bruce Wayne in “Batman Forever,” channeled Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone’s “The Doors” and starred as a tubercular Doc Holliday in “Tombstone,” died Tuesday in Los Angeles. His daughter Mercedes told The New York Times the cause was pneumonia. He was 65. He had been battling throat cancer for several years.

Val had it rough the last few years. Loved him in several movies.
I really liked his performance in Wonderland, playing John Holmes.
I felt like I was watching Holmes.

I didn't realize his acting career spanned almost 40years. I think I may spend Saturday night binge watching a few of his movies, starting with Real Genius.

Loved him in Top Gun and as Jim Morrison.......he was a heavy smoker and had a tracheotomy. Pneumonia with a trach sounds brutal. Glad I gave up smoking in my 20's.

RIP Val, will live in our minds as that chiseled hunk Iceman.
