I’m about to hit the road back to the PNW with a solid 30+ hours of driving ahead of me. To stay sane (and entertained), I’ve been picking up audiobooks, setting the cruise control, and letting the miles fly by. I’ve even revisited a few I’ve already read in print—because hey, a great story hits different when it's read to you.
That said, there *have* been a few duds. Usually, it’s either the writing style not vibing with me, or more often, a narrator so dry they could double as sandpaper.
I’d love a few solid suggestions to keep my mind buzzing while the road blurs by. To give you an idea of what’s worked for me lately, here’s a list of recent listens:

(These were the perfect backdrop while roaming around Moab. Dinos + desert = chef’s kiss.)
The Kingkiller Chronicle + Bast & Ari stories – Patrick Rothfuss
(Over 100 hours of stunning storytelling... now please, for the love of all that is mythical, finish the third book already.)
Artemis – Andy Weir
(Narrated by Rosario Dawson—*swoon*—and grounded in real science.)
Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir
(Favorite of the trip! There’s a key element that only works in audio format—pure genius.)
Armada – Ernest Cline
(Video games, space invasion, and an awkward protagonist I deeply relate to. I’ve handed out more copies of *Ready Player One* than I care to admit. Yes, it’s way better than the movie.)
So... where should I take my mind next?
