Novel approach. Who here wants to be Canadian?
We'd make a lovely 11th province. Finally get decent healthcare too. Originally Posted by tommy156Canadians have traditionally felt proud of their health care system, but today, many struggle to access care.
Canadians have traditionally felt proud of their health care system, but today, many struggle to access care. That's nothing but a 10+ year-old Fox News talking point. It's never been based on reality. Canadians have a far better healthcare system than we do.
Canada ranked 7 among 10 high-income countries according to the 2023 Commonwealth Fund survey, which tracks the performance of leading health systems across five key areas: access to care, care process, administrative efficiency, equity and health outcomes.
In the same survey, Canada ranked last in access to primary health care. The proportion of Canadian adults with access to a primary care provider declined from 93% in 2016 to 86%.
Canada also ranked last in people's ability to get a same- or next-day appointment to see a doctor or nurse.
