HARRISBURG — The state House on Monday advanceda wide-ranging election reform billsponsored by Democratic Speaker Joanna McClinton of Philadelphia — addressing ballot drop boxes, early in-person voting, and pre-canvassing, among other things — and it could get a final vote on Tuesday.

The bill would make changes in areas that have been a source of friction in at least some parts of the state. The chamber also advanceda voter ID bill that got bipartisan supportat the committee level —including from Allegheny County Democrat John Inglis— and that bill, too, could get final action Tuesday.

Guess we'll see how far it gets. Anyone following this and have something they like about the bill?

Happy to see some productive discussions on both sides of the aisle. I think we'll get a modified bill passed with some legitimate reforms.

In person early voting, plus tweaks to the mechanics on when counting begins and how to address uniformly cure mail in ballots are nice to see.
