To Beach...or not to Beach?

Hi guys, I am excited to return to the Panhandle. I was debating staying near the beaches when I visit Destin. Is this going to cause a problem for locals? What area of Destin/FWB is most convenient and centrally located?

I think I will stay away from Pensacola beach when I go there because I know that bridge can back up and it's a little inconvenient for locals.

I appreciate some input on this as well as the best Seafood restaurants to try!

I'd suggest staying in Ft. Walton Beach (not as crowded as Destin and hotels are probably a little cheaper, too).

There are many hotels along Hwy. 98, but if you insist on staying in a hotel ON THE BEACH, I'd suggest "The Island" on Okaloosa Island.
