What level of experience do you have? Is it basic play or card counting?

It's harder to make money on blackjack now since most casinos is using a 4/5 deck chute or a constant shuffler. Card counting is negated since after each hand, all the cards are in play. If time permits, look for a single or a double deck game. Again, the casino takes most of card counting advantage by shuffling when the deck gets down to a quarter or even half. If you really want to play blackjack, stick to basic play. If the cards fall in your favor, you will win back your trip and some. If the cards fall against you, you will not lose too much.

I prefer dice and poker myself hence my signature line ".....Poke'r in the...". You can make a lot more on Hold'em poker since you will be playing against mostly male tourist and if you bat an eye or two, you can throw them off their game. Hold'em is an easy game to learn, but takes years to master. From what I have read from the forums, MsJazebelle is quite the player herself.

Yes I am. I play roughly 4-5 nights a week in local cash games, and I try to make it to the casino about once a month to switch up my play. But what you said about poker it very very true.

"takes a few minutes to learn, and a lifetime to master". I have been playing since I was a little girl (6-7 yrs old) and while I will say that I am not someone that you should think lightly about playing with, I still have tons to learn, and I learn a new lesson every time I sit down.

I also enjoy the dice I have a blast every time I play and can't wait to get back to do it again!

Maribel- don't waste your money honey... You can have someone tell you the basic strageties for hours and hours and until you are sitting there in the real deal it wont make a difference. Believe me, the people at the table will help you because your play effects their money, so they will help you make the "right" decision. But remember its still gambling and the odds are still on the house.. ALWAYS! All the "right" moves are is statistics.

The most important lesson you need to learn is this:

When you first drive up to the casino take a very good look around. Do you see all that opulence? Notice how luxurious the place is?

Still I agree. When I lived in Vegas I learned that the best way to learn is just to play. Be sure to have the basic rules down, and start at the lower end tables. NJ is 100% right about your tablemates helping out during blackjack, because your play can effect the play of others. Of course, helping out can come in the form of chewing your ass out if you are at a table in a casino off the strip that is frequented more by locals.
