Trump and the DC National Guard

Trump called out the Washington DC guard in August 2025.
But he did not on Jan 06

What exactly is the deal with Trump ?

Note: MAGAs still insist it was the left who instigated the Jan 6 riot. Nothing could be further from the truth.
And it’s clear that he could have called up the guard that day, rather than Pelosi, if he had any intent to try and stop the riots.

Are you still in the dark and denial? It is the law that the Speaker of the House with the Mayor are the only ones who can call out the Guard. Trump offered, that's on record. Pelosi said no. Her own daughter caught mom on camera saying this was on her for not calling out the Guard. Interesting that Pelosi had a documentary team on hand to cover a rather routine function. This the effect of the Home Rule Act of 1973 which gave DC some independence of action.
Of course, if section 740 is invoked by the president (Trump or otherwise), the police is made federal for a period of 30 days. This has been done.
Even on January 6th, the DC police chief asked for the Guard as things developed. Pelosi's chief of staff put him on hold for 90 minutes. All documented.
Yet the guard stand in DC and LA prior with no one requesting them except Trump.

Sometimes I think you guys know better than the crap you type but I'm starting to realize you actually believe that shit. .

The National Guard are on DC streets right now.

Who called them out ?

Using the Home Rule Act of 1973, Trump called an emergency and called out the Guard for 30 days.

In 2021, Trump took a different approach and left it to Pelosi and Bowser. What about that is so hard. The fact that it does not support your delusion?

Then Trump could have called out the National Guard on Jan 6...but did not...when there was a riot going on.

He calls out the National Guard now...why ? What was going on ?

Leave it to you to review Trump's actions.

In Washington, D.C., the National Guard is under the command of the President, not the Speaker of the House or the Mayor. This is a unique situation compared to other states where the Governor typically controls the National Guard.

The President's authority over the D.C. National Guard stems from the fact that D.C. is a federal district, not a state.

The Mayor of D.C. can request assistance from the D.C. National Guard, but the ultimate decision to deploy them rests with the President.

Nope and we have Pelosi on record by her daughter.

As for January 6th and a call up...what kind of fool thinks you can sign an order and men and women will what? Beam in instantaneously? At best, hours. More likely days. Your TDS is like syphilis. Its starting to rot your ability to think.

You are way off base now. The fact is Trump could have called out the National Guard on Jan 6, but
did not.
