They were ambushed by the shooter who was wearing camo in a cornfield near his ex's farmhouse. They were trying to locate him to serve an arrest warrant and 4estraining order.
The shooter is dead but investigation in ongoing

It's actually now being reported that the shooter was waiting in the ex's home.
Probably waiting for the ex but the cops showed up first.

Seems he was spotted using binoculars to case the property. Spotted in a trail cam on the property. They did a search but didn't find him.
Found tbe dog later, shot in the basement. So he was there. He was in the house. The cops knew from the trail cam he was armed but hadn't yet found the dog.
