Are we going to have to keep paying taxes to the IRS during this "shutdown"? Yes. Yes we will. Therefore, the government is not "shut down".

Why is this not surprising ?It's my understanding that the shut down is a direct result of the democrats filibustering, preventing a vote by the republicans, and requiring more votes than the republicans can muster. I'm very much not the best on politics and the way things go, but that's my reading. Not the "stand and speak" for days kind, the actively plug everything up with procedural garbage kind.

I'm all for a shutdown, no back pay deal. Government is bloated and could use a cleansing. But i don't think this is Trumps doing. Or am I wrong?
