Facebook...?

So I hear facebook is becoming a big in this industry and I'm wondering how can I utilize it to my advantage.
How does it work for this bizz?
How do I use it to advertise?
Can any one fill me in on this.
Thanks!

Honestly, any hobbyist using Facebook is courting disaster.
Well if you google escorts using facebook it says its used by like,80% of escorts I'm tryin to find out how
I have a profile on fb under my stage name because of networking for films , photographers but never advertise for this , I see alot of girl go on fb + twitter advertising but I don't know why all info would stay on their servers long + anyone could get in your acct as it is constantly hacked I stay away advertising on there just my opinion .

lol I actually am a friend of the American Geisha on her FB page. Under MY stage name, of course.

There is no way 80% of escorts are using facebook for business. Very unsafe for the guys if real info. Very unsafe for the gals if real info.

Forget about it.

Well aside from advertising other places that you are on FB. Hmm. Chicken or the egg question pops out.

I would treat it as just another place to keep up with to let folks know about you.

BUT I will be a bit more blunt and direct on the warnings. Just ONE, (yes 1, uno, and however else you want to spell it,) wrong click or other really quick screw up and its all over, this and real world info gets shared with the whole world.

The Book and the Goog have far surpassed big brother with the snooping, reading what we type, and listening in on us. And they tell the whole freaky world about you on top of it. And we let them, well at least most people do. Don't forget that FB has a feature to match faces in pictures and tells your friends that "hey suzie q is in this picture also that was taken by johnny and hey look he is friends with so and so".

Then the six degrees of Bacon is no longer a fun game because your ass just became the bacon and it hit the frying pan.
Last time I logged in to my FB account, the 'friends' - those who know me, them & others in some sort of way - the friends pages never ended. As long as I'd move the mouse toward the bottom of the screen, the pages kept coming - virtually unending. I had no clue as to who 95% of those people are.

Discretion and control of your privacy are absolutely essential as a provider (or hobbyist). You aren't Taco Bell, sweetie and don't want your little pink taco out there for all to see and know you're selling.

I briefly had a hobby FB account, but dropped it for security concerns. It is amazing how many folks don't adequately separate their real life accounts and hobby accounts, sometimes a mistake that haunts them for the rest of their lives.

I don't have a RL facebook account, and my advice to others engaged in this hobby is to avoid FB unless you truly don't care if the hobby follows you around for the rest of your life. I decided not to take that chance and had my account deleted.

In the end, I made exactly one new female friend during my 6-month stay on FB. There are better ways to connect to the DFW community, IMHO, so I'm sticking with what is tried and true.

facebook for the hobby is a bad bad bad idea for all concerned.

Word to the wise, do not link your Facebook with your regular e-mail.
However, I concur with Tinman and pyramider...don't mix the two.
LE, employers, ID theft criminals and all kinds of elements are all over Facebook.
Facebook seems to promote everyone knowing everyone else and their business and a lot of bad elements are looking for those links.

I deleted over 250 off "Berks'" page.

There was a hobbyist on here who was relaying information/pics off there to other individuals.

I know who he is...and he knows I know...

Thus...I had to screen some to keep them on there and it has become very boring and lame to me...

I have been in the process of shutting it down over the last week.

No more Social Networking for Berk...I am wayyy over it
I have a Facebook account that I use to stay in touch with friends and family. At the moment, Facebook is suggesting I befriend about seven hobbyists on their RL Facebook pages. Scarier than that: there are ZERO links between my Facebook account, and the hobby!! I didn't register it with my hobby email. I have no idea how Facebook knows I know these people! There are no pictures of me on it, and I have it locked down to uber-private, but I just find it very unsettling....

How do they know?!
They can link your facebook page with an email address

The fact that I've heard several reports from folks like you that have seemingly made every effort to separate the two worlds, and yet still see them collide, is convincing enough proof for me that I want to have nothing to do with FB...either in the hobby or in RL.
