Can transgender boys be kept out of girls sports ?


A ruling is expected this summer. There was discussion this week.


The point being made is that if a person identifies their gender identity as a girl or woman,
then they have a right to participate in women's sports- as a matter of equal protection.

the libs will need 2 to cross over to win. options are Barrett, Roberts, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh. my money is on Barrett and Gorsuch, but it's gonna be a heavy lift. my money says the bans stay, but not really a bet the house sort of proposition. more of a coin flip.

honestly, i think the matter belongs before the local athletic authorities. for a given sport, does the weight of the evidence suggest that being born xy confers an unfair advantage. if so, let that athletic board limit participants to only xx individuals. a blanket ban is overly broad imo.

I saw a portion of the SCOTUS oral asrgujments on TV. What disturbed me was the apparent acceptance that males and females are defined by factors other than their genetic make up./

Males have one X chromosome and one Y hromosome.

Females have two X chromosomes and no Y chromosome.

No amount of hormone manipulation or surgery can alter that, no matter how messed up their head is.

If I was on the Supreme Court my thinking would be:


Just because you declare your gender identity, you are not covered under equal protection.
A transgender female still has more strength and endurance than 99% of all biological females.
