Not sure if anyone has a different view, but things have sure dried up in SF, not that there was much going on in the first place. Cases in point:
- the place on Airport Rd across from Walgreens is gone, with all the signage removed. This might have happened a while ago. I went there a few times in past years but it was just so exposed and the talent level wasn’t enough to warrant continued patronage
- the successor to Pony on St. Francis is gone. I stopped by twice in December but the smell of cigarette smoke was so strong I couldn’t stay. Stopped by yesterday and all the signage was gone. Anyone know where it moved?
- thought the Rosina street place was closed because the neon open sign was off, but the door opened right when I was about to drive away. I went in but the lineup was the same as before the holidays, so I passed.
I know there are other places in town and I’ve probably been to every one of them at one point or another, but none of them are very compelling whether in location, talent or services.
Ok, lament over.
