First time in Destin

Any recommendations on areas to stay in Destin? I would like to stay near the beach if it wouldn't be an inconvenience to locals.

I appreciate any feedback on nice areas to stay, good restaurants and entertainment.

Hey. Probably depends on clients you’re targeting and whether you’re trying to keep FWB in reasonable range. From what I hear FWB has more active client base but providers typically draw a lower rate there. If you stay somewhere near the Emerald Grande that would be a reasonable location for all of Destin and would be just at the edge of traveling to/from FWB for a meet.

If you’re targeting maybe lower volume but higher rate then setting up near the Commons is probably best. There it would be a reasonable location for most of Destin but connecting with clients in Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa, and Sandestin becomes reasonable there.

As for specific place this time of year lot of availability so you’d likely be able to find a vacant airbnb on or near Beach at a reasonable price.

Seaside or Rosemary Beach aka 30a area would be my first choice but pricey. If you were counting on staying literally in Destin, I'd stay around the Henderson Park area. Henderson Beach Resort and Lofts are solid choices. The Pearl Hotel (30a area) would probably be the nicest hotel in the surrounding area. Grand Boulevard at Sandestin is a good third choice.


As for restaurants it depends on what you like. Louisiana Lagniappe, Bitterroot, Cafe Thirty-A, Vue on 30a, The Great Southern Cafe, The Gran Marlin (PCB area), Primrose, Marina Cafe. I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

Marriott Courtyards at Grand Boulevard good choice. Vintji an upscale restaurant with excellent food and wine, sit at bar or Bricktop both in immediate area. For old school Destin go to Harbor Docks and sit at the bar. Been there since 1979. Advise from local.
