Panama City info??

Thinking of heading there soon, but there's not much up to date info on here. I see Habano's Cafe is now "permanently closed" according to Google maps, what area or locations would you suggest now, and any hotel recommendations close to them?

I'm looking at a week-long intensive spanish course, with some fun times in the evenings. I don't need the fanciest hotel but something decent, and don't want any issues bringing guests back to the room in the evening. Don't love the idea of high "guest fees" but I'm willing to pay them if necessary. Casco Viejo possibly??
