Poster's Limited Role

OSD said this in the Free Balls thread. It seemed reply worthy so I started a new thread for it:

And we may get reminded that the posters are only to make for hits so the board can charge the advertisers. And the gals can make money off the many lurkers. And the mods are here to keep us in line. As we post so we have a voice and give the lurkers something to read.

"Only" I disagree with.

I believe forum dynamics are much, much, more than that quoted.

So I thank NB for this thread also.

I would like to know what cnym thinks on this.

ahhhh The marketing aspect.

I don't think Eccie would set the board up solely for $$ from advertisers. I believe it was formed for a more personal reason. Marketing the adult industry is not a quick win financially, and typically calls for a lot of hassle. However, the posts certainly effect it's appearance on the charts/searches.

Marketing here at Eccie, on my part, does not solely target lurkers. I do tend to limit my marketing to a mature audience with similar likes. This way, an appointment can be more successful.

The mods and marketing? I believe they provide a "safe" community feel, and I am definitely more apt to be here, than at a board where the mods are less noticeable. I like the structure, so the marketing aspect of that won me over.

The marketing value of having a place to "post our voice" : It does provide lurkers with a place to get their feet wet before registering/paying. I visit here for the community as a whole, and sharing my voice is definitely a part of that.

Great thread topic, OSD & great catch, NB!!

There are also lurkers that have handles. As in there are many that do not post that much. And many more that never post. But do have a handle, yet they do read. PA can be had short and long term without ever reviewing. edit: along with the many that read and do not have a handle.

edit:But provider ad are free. They do not care who reads them. As long as somebody does!

Indeed there are! Hopefully I represent myself here as the person I am, so that one may get to know me and then decide if they might wish to meet....

But asshats like me are stuck in before the web. I never had a though of ever seeing one provider. Not even when I saw her at a M&G. But when she spoke to me, I wished I saw her long ago when ASPD and E.com where still around. She is now on my list. If I ever start looking for new to me again. She melted my heart with her words.

I think OSD gives the mods WAY TOO MUCH credit. He is always speaking of them like they are gods.

And to think my wild side is hidden a little at this (of all types of) board!

Yours is an excellent notation of board experience. I'll be contemplating those effects, and how to integrate that concept effectively into the site I am developing.

Thanks!

ahhhhh where's perryay when you need him

The part I hate about boards is not meeting before thinking of seeing. Much is lost with pic's and printed words. Playing from bars is almost dead now days. Most of this game is board's and ad sites now. M&G's offer offer a way for both sides to see without commitment to meet. With most I met over a board I was lucky. keyword "most". After the last M&G I found I passed on a few that I should not have when I was shopping. And if I ever start looking for a new to me again. Will have to do something about that.

so a gift (free frozen turkey) would have been a trick to see you. without seeing it all hum ahem. But would think about maybe or not at a latter time.

If ya still do not understand, never mind, forget it.

played the bar so long. I hate over the boards. even as a post ho that is I
