It's a good thing I discovered [internet] hobbying. They should add a disclaimer about NOT believing everything you read on the internet. Some of those "myths" aren't actually myths.
If you took a high school course in genetics then you can draw up a punnett square and see how inbreeding causes mutations and abnormalities. Tay Sachs is one clear example.
As far as STD from a toilet seat...i recall the story of a pubic lice / crabs outbreak from a public restroom.
