I have been stuck in BCS more than a few times with not much to do, and a lot of time to do it in lol. I tried checking out some of the bars, but really the scene is more for college age kids, and being the oldest one in there (early 30s) I couldn't even get a decent game of darts going. I am sure that you could more easily make friends in that kind of situation, but depending on what you are like socially, it could probably get really old really fast.
So I started looking for other things to do that I could do solo. Movies there are cheaper than a lot of larger cities, and the 2 theaters in town are decent. I went bowling a couple of times, and that is also pretty fun and inexpensive. Beyond that, the only other thing I really found was fishing. I can recommend a place to go if you are so inclined. (just send me a PM)
On the weekend there are quite a few more interesting things to do. They have races most weekends out at the track (south and east of town out hwy 6:
