Just asking. I haven't even figured what this would mean to me. What do the "Flat Taxers" think about this?

It would benefit everybody, including the 1%ers. If you want to punish people for being successful, this is not the plan for you. What this would do is help insure that the 1%ers get their money legitimately, instead of paying legislators for special perks hidden in the tax code.

It would also improve upward mobility in income, since the punishment for making more money will be gone. This benefits the middle class and poor even more than the rich.

Must be magic!! In lowers everybody's taxes and increases revenue, eh?? That's a neat mathematical trick!!!

Simple equation: Tax Base x Tax Rate = Tax

The Fair Tax would greatly increase the Tax Base. You might want to look it up on fairtax.org. This is the most well thought out and researched tax proposal in history.

I still don't know why you love the current code so much. Feels like the Stockholm Syndrome.

One issue that should get more focus is how this tax would remove much of the advantage of manufacturing products overseas and importing them to the US. You would no longer avoid the tax burden by doing that and countries like China would no longer have an unfair competative advantage. Think of all the jobs that would return to the US.

Exactly, Laz, and consider what would happen to Boeing, GM, Ford, etc. if they could sell their products overseas at a price 20% lower than they do currently. America would be top dog once again.

No one has taken the time to explain how great and fair our current tax system is?
