Mardi Gras advice :)

That's right, Taboo Tanner is gonna try to be in the Big Easy for the biggest party of the year. This will be my first time going since I was a little kid so I know this will be much different..

Any advice about staying safe? I already heard not to bring a purse and not have my phone out/visable. Not to try to join the marching bands. And no titty flashing in "family areas". I'm looking for tips from some Mardi Gras veterans and I know you all are out there!!

Also, is it possible to still get rooms this late?



Also, any other ladies planning on going? I would loooove to have a naughty ladies night!

If looking for drinking night life fun stay close to downtown area as much as possible, St. Charles tends to be family row. Canal street is a blast if you can take the crowds. Have fun!!!

Ohhh I think we would have a "blast" if that were to happen! I have no problem with the crowds as I will most likely be part of the rowdy crowd. It's not every year I will get to come to this so it's time to go big and show them what this little lady can do!

mardi gras is the reason i moved here 3 years ago.

I love love love mardi gras....especially the flashing for beads part{hell i even made a cool curtain for my front door out of the beads....lol}................. I sometimes get into it by dressing up.

last year I got to march in teh BOX OF WINE parade..that was way cool!

I live off st charles so i have the "perfect" access to the parades and the bathroom!

I would say to go ahead and book a hotel before they are too high or are sold out.....bring comfortable shoes cause you will be doing alot of walking!

and the best advice is prepare to party!!!!!!!!

Be aware that every hotel will require you to show your room key, or some other form of ID, to prove that you are a guest there.

Try the Astor Hotel, on the corner of Bourbon and Canal, The parades pass right in front, on Canal, and they have a great balcony, if you desire to use it, for viewing.

Metaire on Vets is very family.

Tanner- I have a 2-bedroom cottage on my property that I usually rent during Mardi Gras. Access to private brick patio/garden/pool, very private, and of course, I'm sure we could work something out in terms of rent payment

Wear old sneakers and jeans.That stench and stain is difficult to wash out.Try to travel in a group.Limit the amount of cash you carry and keep it in a front pocket.

The.prince I actually have been to New Orleans probably around a hundred times growing up. I know the streets like the palm of my hand. Depending on the weather I might just wear something sleezy lol
