Chat room for KC Metro area?

I am new to this and not very technically savvy....but I am curious why we dont have our own chat room? I think it would be fun and a great way to get to know each other and just have fun

That would be nice. The Texans tend to dominate the chat room. I rarely find anyone from KC on there. I don't think enough people use the chatroom to warrant another and I believe it would be additional expense for the owners.

And yet, both just chatted, albeit in slow motion.
They don't have local chat rooms. Just one big one for the whole site.
i was told that the one big one was a "dallas tx" chatroom by the people in it.
Everyone can go into that chatroom and have fun if they want. Yes, the Texas folks tend to dominate it, but I have seen numerous folks from the KC area in there from time to time.

It seems like there are more and more from the KC area joining chat - yes most are from Texas.

This is available still:
http://www.wireclub.com/chat/room/kansas_city_contacts
rated adult - no membership in the room required - but you must create an account to access the site.
A Yahoo group could be created. Lots of options, if they are used. But anything offsite may be verification problems.
I have done the chat room here a couple of times and not having multiple rooms is not a good design in my personal opinion. It could be that chat is not a major area for the site owner and/or staff? Only they can tell us that. I'll ask that question at the board level and see what happens.
i am in the chat room almost every day sometimes two and three times a day,its alot of fun and cant meet new and exciting people from all over

I left a couple of questions at the national level Angel to see what would be said on this.

Not sure what will come of the questions. Have to wait and see. If I get any real answers I will share it with this thread as well.

Kat - it is hard for me to follow the chat flow with the small frame and large number of users. Have you used a chat room with multipule windows -rooms? Much easier to follow for someone like me with limited capacity.
i do use yahoo where there is one main window and then you have pm boxes for those you wish to talkto not via open room here on eccie the same thing here.newtown shoot me a pm when you wanna go to chat and i will be more then willing to walk you threw the chat room.it can be overwhelming at times but dont worry we dont bite....unless we are asked to.
as a matter of fact i am headed there now.cum join me

Yes, most chat sites have multiple areas but the ECCIE chat area does not at this time. I do not know if that will change. Originally Posted by Mokoa

Sorry I missed you Kat - here is the update on the NATIONAL BOARD ON CHAT AND PRIVATE ROOMS. Waiting to see what happens next.

Mokoa - if you check the title of the thread, it was:

Chat and "private rooms" So I don't think he is off topic?
In the original post:

Not sure what a spider hole is, but I am begining to think the just none o' my biz' may be the situation? I am not speaking of a hole for a spiker - what ever that may be, if it is not possible or the site owners do not allow it, or you just don;t know or just can't say - well I don't want to get you in trouble, so I would understand that a no response for you is NO and that is different than I DON'T KNOW! So thanks for the answer or the NO answer or the no answer, what ever the result may be! Originally Posted by newtotown
