FWIW,

I tell the ladies to avoid the downtown hotels (any hotel on BUSINESS 190 / Veteran's Memorial) or on Rancier.

I would recommend many of the several hotels to be found on US 190 between Florence Rd and Stan Schleuter Rd. (look at the newer ones).

There are three hotels on Fort Hood Street between US 190 and Business 190 that seem to be popular with local providers.
