Help An Animal They Will Love You Forever....

I've noticed a huge difference between mankind and animals....if you help an animal, take it from the streets, give it a nice, warm home, food and love they will be grateful to you forever.
Take a person off the street, give them shelter, food, and treat them well, they will forget where they came from as soon as you help them
That's why I love my animals, all rescues, who show me unconditional love every day.
Anyone else have a similar experience with helping people? Then them turning around and being ungrateful, disrepectful, and have a feeling of entitlement?
Not all people are self serving assholes, and not all animals are appreciative of a kind gesture.

My adopted sister, for example is a sweetheart. My cat ironically, is an asshole.

JJ funny I've never had an animal that didn't show me love....I've also noticed that "usually no good deed goes unpunished" but I'm glad that you have had a good experience with your adopted sister. My family, both adopted and biological, are not close so I haven't had that experience. Wish they were more receptive to a "family type relationship" but they aren't One of my reasons for moving back to TX is to be closer to family, but I don't think it will make much of a difference that I am in closer proximity when they aren't responsive to me anyway?
I'm sorry to hear that. Bonding with people at a young age is very important. My grandparents raised me until I was 15. My mom took over for the last three years of my adolescence. I had strong bonds to my grandparents and I never really bonded to my mother. In fact, I didn't really liked her (still don't).

Growing up we were a blended family (yours, mine and ours) and very close, but since my mom passed away she was more or less the glue that held it all together. It seems like no one is willing to go out of their way to try to bond with anyone, also doesn't help because my family seems to hold "grudges" they don't like something someone said at Christmas The one holiday that most everyone tries to get together is Christmas, the rest of the year no one seems to care. I find I can't even go back at Christmas as it seems so "fake" to me to see people once a year and they express this great interest in what you are doing, but don't reach out to you the rest of the year at all It doesn't help that everyone is pretty spread out now. Seven out of 9 siblings that are living are all over the US (IL, TN, TX, FL).

I meant 7 living siblings out of 9.
Princess, you haven't rescued a panther lately, have you? (jk...lol) While I agree that most animals love unconditionally...they're still a product of their environment, genetic disposition, and instinct.

Humans...it's much easier to make excuses or justify bad behavior...instead of accepting responsibility, it's just *human nature!*
Strive to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
Dennis, is this what you mean?

What? You said...FETCH!!

Just yanking your chain Dennis. Nikki made me do it. I better skedaddle before I get spanked.

Truth is many people really do have difficulty with accepting the concept of unconditional love. We are conditioned now by society driven towards self-loathing. No one is ever content with who they are and what they have anymore.

Periodically it is important to sit back and take stock of ones self & accomplishments.

No I haven't rescued any panthers lately! LOL I have helped some people who turned around an bit me in the ass though! All my pets are rescued and they all show me unconditional love, always. Yes my cats are a little more independent, and are only here for the food No seriously my male cat will give me sweet kisses and come lay by me at times when he wants to.
My rescue pets are great.

Not sure about pets being genetically programmed to be vicious. I remember as a child that people wanted to outlaw owning german shepards because they bit people. Then it was doberman pinchers. Then some other breed. Now it is Pit Bulls. In my opinion, dogs act the way they are programmed to act based on their environment. Yes, a few dogs are just mean but so are humans. My brother has taken in several undesireable Pit Bulls that were given up and about to be put to sleep because their owners didn't know how to handle them. My brother has rescued and rehabilitated them to the point they are great and loyal companions.

Like humans, all animals are born innocent. The environment they are raised in determines their behavior.

satxguy so true, you forgot one breed they labeled vicious "rotties" and they can be huge teddy bears, also "akita" and several others. I actually called once to rent an apt and they told me they don't accept certain breeds of dogs so I expected the typical "rottie, pittie, GSD, akita, doberman, etc" and I told them I don't have a vicious breed dog I have a chihuahua and the guy told me "sorry they are on our list of dogs we don't accept" LOL I was like "quit f'ing with me. a chihuahua isn't a vicous breed" LOL and he was like "sorry, no, I'm serious" I couldn't believe it, I figured it had to be a mistake an 8 lb dog? LOL Chihuahua's get bad raps as snippy little ankle biters LOL which I have rescued and rehomed over 50+ chihuahuas and only a couple were like that, most are calm, quiet, and great companion dogs!
