Getting a new name

I have read references to changing names in several threads. Is it allowable to discontinue using the name I have and getting a new one. The stories I have read said that providers have screwed up under one name then come back with a new name. I also notice the mod staff will not allow some one to mention the old name. Does any one else see where this is just wrong?

Of course they should, because some spent all of 8 seconds coming up with one.

I want a NAME!!
Its spring, and Ive been thinking the same thing. I'm ready for a overhaul. New hairstyle, new wardrobe!

@SweetNLittle

I can't imagine a better name for you, love!
It would have to be something very unique because you are truly one of a kind

There are a multitude of reasons why a provider would or could change her name. Could be due to name regret, starting over to get away from a wackjob, or many others. All of these boil down to one thing, it's being her choice and she's welcome to do it, in my opinion.

As for bad juju under an old name, there is usually a thread or review that will mention a previous name or known past issues and it's in the hobbiest's best interest to do his research to find that out. If the mods are truly blocking mentions of old names, then do a Web search.

A lot of ladies end up with stalkers, or have very personal issues that make it dangerous for them to continue under a certain name that they have had for a long time. Don't assume that because they change their name it has to do with anything negative in the way of reviews etc.

I think it is important to respect their privacy on this issue. One lady I know in particular was being stalked from city to city and it was all through reading these type boards and getting info the stalker was using.

I have seen a number of people get their hands slapped for referencing her old name and one person was banned. This was a while back.

Whatever their reasons just know that they have to build up their reputation all over again under the new name. Not as easy as you think.
What of the providers and clients that have caused dangerous occurrences? Some have been involved in robbery's or ripping off some one in the hobby. A provider I won't name is on her second name and is involved in another dust up. Will she continue to just change names with the knowledge of the site mods?

However you won't be able to stop people from creating dual handles (which is different from disabling an account and starting a new one). If they have bad intentions there is just no way the mods will be able to stop that unless they can see their IP address through their posts and match it up to the old handle.

Now name changing is different. I have seen some ladies not disable their account but simply change their name on the existing account. Their reviews are still there under the new name.

But if a lady does not have any "bad" history and she is asking to disable an account for stalking or other reasons that could cause problems for her (like real life work reasons) etc. Then she should be able to do so and everyone needs to respect that. I personally am not in favor of "outing" in this type of situation.

I don't care but I'm of the belief if someone has a new name, unless the change was for safety or outing reasons, the old handle and reviews should be linked.
