Still need my computer put up by tomorrow as Uverse is coming on Friday.
I need the hard drive, monitor, external HD, speakers, printer, connected and the laptop to talk to the printer?

I'm confused. Do you have a tower PC or laptop? If it's a completed tower PC, then it should be as easy as plugging in the wires where they need to go, and making sure they're connected to the corresponding peripheral device. (So make sure the monitor cable actually connects the monitor, the keyboard, etc.) In fact, it's all color-coded on the back of PC's nowadays, or if it's a USB connection, you can plug it into any port and it will work.

This is the part that has me confused. You said you need the hard drive AND the external hard drive connected? Usually you wouldn't take out your hard drive from your chassis or laptop. But if you did, it's easy enough to connect. Basically, run the hard drive to the mother board, make sure it's powered, connect the ribbon strip, (connect it to the power source) screw that baby into the chassis, and you're good to go! If you get confused, you can find TONS of videos showing you what you need to do.

If it's an external drive, it should just go through a USB port, unless it's some super-old/antiquated technology. Perhaps you could clarify what you're having trouble with...? I'm sure it will be an easy fix! Best of luck to you, and welcome to San Antonio!

Thanks for all the info and offers for help. I finally was able to at least get it up and running for when the Uverse guy comes today.
I am so spoiled as I had a friend who is a computer tech who always did everything for me, even built my tower. So yes, it is just a matter of plugging in the things to the right places. I still have to figure out how to get my wireless keyboard and mouse working, but I do have the corded keyboard/mouse plugged in for now.
I will figure it all out later, just wanted the tower and monitor working before the guy comes to hook everything up and then later I guess I will mess with hooking up the printer, speakers, Maxel external HD, and my laptop wifi to the printer, ugh.....
Right now waiting on ATT to arrive they give you a 3 hour window, then tell you it can take up to 4 hours for installation Ruins my whole day But hope to be available later today!

All I can say is wasting my time all day on this U-Verse installation U-Verse better be the BEST cable and internet service EVER!
In Cali we HAD to have Verizon Fios where I lived, monopoly, it was good, but pricey!
Hoping U-Verse is really cool and the greatest EVER! !
Since I haven't been able to do much today,
will be AROUND ALL WEEKEND THRU MONDAY!

For everyday home use Uverse is
at the top and Clear is at the bottom. Uverse NEVER
goes down and the speed is consistant. I only use it for
internet tho. Can't speak to TV or phone service.
Clear on the other hand is only good as a backup.
Speed can be great or lousy. SOmetimes 4mps and at other times
18mps.
