Not one red cent did I put toward the lotto. I guess it could be seen as me cheating the government out of some lotto tax money but I just hate the odds. I wonder who won.
I didn't play. Not that it would happen, but my ex hubby and an ATF told me I would be taken care of! LOL! I didn't expect EITHER to come through!

The lottery is a tax on those who are bad at math.
Do you understand expected value COG?

Our pool at work is about 30 people and has been going for about 15 years. We only buy tickets when the lottery gets to a set amount. The most we've won is around $200. A few years ago I figured that we've spent $15K on this silly venture. I look at it as pure entertainment.

$1 - I know the odds suck but what the hell.

$10, reduced the odds to only 1:17.6 million.

I went all in - $39. Why $39 and not $40? why not! actually that's all the cash i had in my pocket and i wasn't going to speculate any more than that. 3 winning tickets in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland were sold.

In Texas

14 people got 5 of 5 no powerball == $250,000.00
65 people got 4 of 5 with powerball === $10,000.00
3504 people got 3 of 5 with power ball === $150.00

I bought a $5.00 ticket, and I was one of the 3504.

3 people in Maryland bought the winning ticket at a 7-11

It's a funny line. Geez, you people have no sense of humor.
The lottery is a surcharge on stupidity!

With that said, I played $1.

I quit with every form of gambling including casino's when I discovered trading. That's gambling with "the edge of the house".
