Officer under investigation for inappropriate contact with prostitute

This is going to be very interesting.

Let's all sit back and enjoy the show.
A word of caution. The above link to the story is fine since it simply reports the incident and does not name the officer or the person who reported the incident. However, if there are additional stories in the future that do provide specific information about either party, do not post those links. This type of information has to be exchanged via PMs.
I'm amazed it took this long (to come out) . . . I'm just sayin'.
It's been awhile, but I've been to that hotel... hmmm...

We have several area LEO websites in our area that list the names of individuals arrested as well as news organizations that post the names of individuals arrested, caught in sting operations or use various hobby websites (like BP, ECCIE, Craigslist, etc) as part of their reporting; none of these may be added as active links within a post. This does not mean, however, that the information can not be shared by general reference in a thread or post, nor does it mean that the link can not be shared with other members of the board through PMs or e-mails.

For forum rules as precedent, I cite #5:

#5 - Outing or threats of outing are taken seriously. Membership here is anonymous and for the privacy of our members it will remain that way. That means any effort or attempt to connect a person's real world information to their username on this board will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. This includes real names, employment, medical info, addresses past or present, images, criminal or driving record, etc. We expect everyone who participates here to respect and go to great lengths to protect the anonymity and privacy of one another. Reckless disregard or accidental outing will also be taken very seriously.

Since there is no way to know whether the people involved in links are members of the board, the trend has been to err on the side of caution.

I cannot, however, link directly to the booking report. News articles that reveal actual names are not allowed either. There has been an exception made for links to news articles POST conviction, but not before. It is actually a discussed working rule in the staff area (this policy) and it is not enforced evenly across ECCIE (nothing ever is). It is firmly enforced in the Midwest (Kansas, St. Louis, Nebraska, Iowa, etc.) by the moderators that have covered those sections for more quite some time (more than a year). It is a strict interpretation of the "outing" rule.

EDIT: Sorry, Fritz, I didn't mean to step on your post. I took a call and must have been on the phone when you posted.

well the real names did not have the handles also. And where handles where named, there where no real names. I'm ok with the upstate mods leaving as is.

Is it not good to know we are being watched?

The only outing was by the op provider. pointing in a way to another eccie provider. That was not named by real name.

mmmm so far thanks Jackie and fritz for your reply's. mmmm wish ya did not slam the RTM button.

If that is how it is in the Midwest. Then that is the way it is.

ok, I can live with we disagree on it fritz. Rochester has some shit going down that needs to stop. So I will not post another link like that in Kansas. Can you please keep off the RTM in upstate.
