No Anonymous Posting!

NY State Senator Thomas F. O'Mara (R-Big Flats) has a very clever idea to stop cyber-bullying.

He has introduced a bill that would require that any anonymous post online is subject to removal if the poster refuses to disclose and verify his/her legal name, IP address, and home address.

This bill, if passed, will stop cyber-bullying. It will kill ECCIE. In fact, it will destroy the Internet as we know it!

Just create another alias. Unenforceable laws are worthless. The Senator would better serve is constituency to keep his bills local, or do something grand like balance an budget.

Clearly a violation of 1st amendment rights that wouldn't stand any court challenges.
