It was a great indy 500. Congrats to Dario Franchitti on becoming the newest three time winner. Very close finish......I thought Sato was going to pass Franchitti on the last lap, but Sato got too low and spun out. Hope Sato didn't get hurt.

Soto was fine, no injuries. It was a gutsy move but he may have been a bit early in going for it. A better time to do it would have been on the back straightaway where it could have been done cleanly and there would have been less distance for the others to run him down.

It was definitely a fun race to watch.

i definately thought Sato would pass Franchitti, he had enough car to do it. But like you said, he tried the pass too early. Everybody was losing control when they got on the painted line today. It's on my bucket list to go to the Indy 500 someday.

Same here. I would love to see that race in person. Back in 1970 and 1971 I saw them race at Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario California. That speedway was modeled after Indy. A two and a half mile oval identical in dimensions to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That was an awesome time watching Andretti, the Unsers, Foyt, and other of that era in one race.

Mokoa, I remember Ontario Motor Speedway. I was more into drag racing back then, and they had an excellent drag strip in the Ontario Complex. Too bad its all gone now.

Yep, it was a great facility in its day. I remember the drag strip too.
