Unions; so great they have to be forced onto employees. No wonder they failed. No has talked about this. Sounds like 2/3rds of the members did not even want to be members of those unions. Ohhh woes me, democracy has failed...LOL

i'm not much on private sector unionism. for there are changes that need to be done in union states such as the requirement to pay dues, member or no member; the union hiring halls in construction where the supply of labor is controlled by the unions and where they have "pre-hire" agreements; in the entertainment industry any union member is prohibited from working on non-union projects; union shops where an employee of a private business can be fired for not paying union duesYou're exactly right. There are all sorts of abuses in private sector unions, but public sector unions are far worse. The public sector unions collect dues, against the will of the members, and give essentially all the money to Democrat politicians, and in return, receive raises in pay and benefits. It's a complete conflict of interests. The unions and the Democrat politicians benefit from the arrangement and the tax payers get screwed. The arrangement results in Democrat politicians being allowed to finance their campains with tax payer money.
but the whole issue in wisconsin and the discussions on this board revolved around PUBLIC sector unions, not merely unions. Originally Posted by nevergaveitathought
