Jack Garner, retired film critic from the Democrat and Chronicle was interviewed yesterday about his life-long love of cinema. He recalled how the Vincent Price movie, House of Wax, remains one of his favorite films. He first saw the movie as a young boy, and was so affected that he had nightmares. That evening, when he cried out, his father came to his room to find out what was wrong. He told his father, "Dad, I saw a horror movie today", to which Dad replied "Son, you shouldn't be seeing movies with women like that in 'em!"
Lol! I had forgotten about Jack Garner. He used to do a regular slot with Brother Wease on wcmf. I enjoyed listening to the two of them.
